Cyberlink's Medi@Show Create multimedia presentations fairly easily By John Virata Medi@Show 3 is multimedia presentation software that enables you to create a multitude of presentations that incorporate text, audio, and still images. While many entry level video editing and image editing applications include presentation tools as features, as does Cyberlink's Power Producer application, Medi@Show is a standalone application that is focused on just one task; creating multimedia presentations. So with that said, we'll take a look at some of the features that this tool has to offer.

When you first launch Medi@Show, you are greeted with a window (which can be turned off when you next launch the application) that asks if you wish to run the wizard or open a new project. Since a project hasn't been created, go with the Wizard, as it'll enable you to quickly create a project. Your next step is to import media from your hard drive to the application. This media can be still images, audio files, video files, and even PowerPoint presentations.

You can also acquire your images from a TWAIN compliant source as well. The Open window also enables you to preview the file in a bigger window before you choose to import it into your project. Once you've imported the media assets, they will appear in Medi@Show's library. To place them into your project's Storyboard, you have to either drag them from the library to the Storyboard, or highlight them, right click them and select add to Storyboard. This will add the files to the Storyboard, which will enable them to appear in the finished project. Files that are added to the Library do not appear in your final project unless you add them to the Storyboard.

Content Insider #148 - The iGen
NO...Doesn't have a thing to do with "that" smartphone...or "that" store...or "that" tablet. It's the next generation. Kids and we mean little kids. That's what today's products are being designed for/targeted at. You happen to buy one...fine. Watch a little, little kid pick up a smartphone. He/she just uses it. They've come pre-wired and we're still trying to figure out how to IM. It's the IGen. They want it instantly. They want to use it instantly. They expect their photos, their video, their music, their stuff immediately when/where/how they want it. Read More

Insider #149 - Game Demographics
The blood, gore, adrenalin challenges that were unveiled at E3 and enjoyed at ComicCon are fun to look at, easy to hold but are they really the games people want to plunk down their credit cards to own or rent time with? Seems as though the investors, the players who control the controllers have a different idea of a "good" game than the kids who develop them. While mobs of people play educational, informational, stimulating games our kid huddles in his room and mumbles "The Few, The Proud, The Gamers." Read More
