Samsung Prepares For A Thrilling Summer With Fantastic Four Plans multifaceted broadcast, print and on-line strategic marketing campaign (June 21, 2005)

Samsung Electronics, a global leader in technology innovation, advances to the next level of marketing excellence through a multidimensional campaign revolving around the July 8th nationwide theatrical release of Twentieth Century Fox?s epic motion picture adventure ?Fantastic Four.? From featuring innovative Samsung products in the movie and video game, to a broad advertising campaign, Samsung is determined to make a statement with this ?Fantastic? film.

?Fantastic Four? and Activision?s Fantastic Four video game will each feature Samsung consumer electronics, business technology, and cell phone products in addition to several branding placements. These marketing and advertising partnerships are part of Samsung?s overall strategy in the film and gaming industries. In addition, Samsung will promote the film on their extensive network of influential online advertising outlets, key print advertising publications and a commercial created especially for TV and cinema distribution.

?Samsung is looking forward to a successful summer and are thrilled to work with Twentieth Century Fox, and Activision to make that happen with the Fantastic Four,? said Peter Weedfald, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Consumer Electronics & North American Corporate Marketing, Samsung Electronics America, Inc. ?This exciting relationship marks the first of its kind on many levels as it provides the winning marketing combination of TV, cinema, on-line and the video game industry united with our fast-growing brand.?

The nationwide branding initiative will launch on June 21st across the Samsung Internet ad network of over 425 top consumer publication websites, with a series of ?call to action? advertisements incorporating the film. The on-line marketing push will be followed by branding ads on TV, in cinemas, and in national print publications. A 30-second television commercial and a unique 60-second cinema spot featuring dynamic film footage inter-cut with animated Samsung products will run in top U.S. markets starting June 24th. The TV commercial will also run on the Samsung billboard in Times Square in New York City.

?In an effort to captivate audiences around the Fantastic Four film, we were pleased to partner with a global leader such as Samsung to generate excitement this summer,? said Tony Sella, Fox?s co-president of marketing.

Content Insider #148 - The iGen
NO...Doesn't have a thing to do with "that" smartphone...or "that" store...or "that" tablet. It's the next generation. Kids and we mean little kids. That's what today's products are being designed for/targeted at. You happen to buy one...fine. Watch a little, little kid pick up a smartphone. He/she just uses it. They've come pre-wired and we're still trying to figure out how to IM. It's the IGen. They want it instantly. They want to use it instantly. They expect their photos, their video, their music, their stuff immediately when/where/how they want it. Read More

Insider #149 - Game Demographics
The blood, gore, adrenalin challenges that were unveiled at E3 and enjoyed at ComicCon are fun to look at, easy to hold but are they really the games people want to plunk down their credit cards to own or rent time with? Seems as though the investors, the players who control the controllers have a different idea of a "good" game than the kids who develop them. While mobs of people play educational, informational, stimulating games our kid huddles in his room and mumbles "The Few, The Proud, The Gamers." Read More
